Dharmaj Day – An Innovative Idea Celebration for Genext …

As the legendary poet Kalidas says that the mankind is really fond of celebrations “ Utsav Priyaha Khalu Manushyaha ” ¸ the festivals and celebrations relieve human beings from the daily grind of the life. That is why in Indian culture there are many festivals which provide the energy to mechanical life of human beings.

Dharmaj is considered a developed town of Charotar. Many Patidars ‹ Patels › from Dharmaj since generations have migrated all over the world for business and employment. Known for not mincing the words but with entrepreneur spirit ¸ honest and hard working and good managers ¸ natives of Dharmaj have a noble quality of serving the society.

A son of the soil ¸ when he prospers ¸ remembers his native place and helps generously if the local citizens are carrying out development activities in transparent manner. And because of this there are many development activities which could be undertaken by public participation in the town resulting into outstanding facilities. Many Dharmajians keep on visiting their native town and some of them reside in the village for a definite period every year. They are known as Non Resident Dharmajians ‹ NRD›.

It was natural for the first generation migrants of Dharmaj to have emotional bonds with the native place because they had passed their childhood and the earlier years here. But fortunately the second or third generation who have hardly visited Dharmaj also have deep feelings for their ancestorⅅs native place.

Keeping in mind, that an occasion should be arranged where the earlier and the later generations can get together the idea of celebrating Dharmaj Day emerged after long discussions.
